Tasks & reputation
Reputation reflects how reliably you use the platform. It can change when tasks end in certain ways or when content is moderated. This page is a clear overview for participants and organizers.
Task statuses
Every task moves from draft toward completion—or ends early. Wording in the app may differ slightly, but it maps to the same lifecycle.
| Status | What it means | Terminal? |
|---|---|---|
| Draft | You are still editing; not submitted for platform review. | No |
| In review | Waiting for platform review after submission. | No |
| Recruiting | Open for applications; assign stage leads and align before heavy execution. | No |
| In progress | Stages are being executed; submit work and request acceptance as the task defines. | No |
| Completed | All stages are done and accepted; the task finishes successfully. | Yes |
| Terminated | Stopped by deadline (automatic) or by platform operations. Settlement rules still apply in the product separately. | Yes |
| Dissolved | Stopped by the task initiator. Reputation impact depends on timing—see the table below. | Yes |
Reputation changes
Task reputation rules on this page (completion bonuses and incomplete-stage penalties in the tables) apply only **after the task has entered In progress**. Draft, in review, or recruiting events do not use these rules. If the deadline passes **before** the task ever reaches In progress, **no** completion bonuses or incomplete-stage penalties from this task apply. **Members who are not the initiator and are not assigned as any stage lead** do not gain or lose reputation from this task’s completion rules. The product records each adjustment **once** per event (no duplicate scoring). If you lead several stages, each stage is settled separately.
New accounts start at 100. When the task **fully completes**—terminal state and **every stage has passed acceptance**—the initiator gets a one-time bonus, and **each stage lead** gets a bonus for every stage that finished acceptance (see the table). If the task ends but **any stage is still not accepted**, the initiator **does not** get the one-time bonus; leads of **incomplete** stages **do not** get completion bonuses for those stages; leads of **completed** stages **still** get the per-stage bonuses below.
Increases
| Situation | Who | Reputation |
|---|---|---|
| Task fully completes — standard task, initiator (one-time, not stacked per stage) | Task initiator | +1 once |
| Task fully completes — bounty task, initiator (one-time) | Task initiator | +3 once |
| Each stage that reached acceptance (counts for both full completion and early endings — only completed stages) | Stage lead for that stage | +1 per completed stage (standard) |
| Same — bounty task | Stage lead for that stage | +3 per completed stage (bounty) |
| Appeal approved for a mistaken penalty (when available) | Your account | Restored to match the reversed penalty |
Decreases
| Situation | Who | Reputation |
|---|---|---|
| Initiator dissolves during execution, after the cooldown from when execution started | Initiator only | −5 (initiator only; completed stages can still earn per-stage bonuses above) |
| After the task was **in progress**, deadline passes and the task ends with incomplete stages — standard task | Stage lead of each incomplete stage | −1 per incomplete stage |
| Same — bounty task | Stage lead of each incomplete stage | −3 per incomplete stage |
| Content or conduct violation (AI or human moderation) | Account that broke the rules | −1 to −3 (by severity) |
Moderation severity is expressed on a **0–1** scale and mapped to −1 / −2 / −3; follow in-app wording. Dissolving from draft, in review, or recruiting usually does not change reputation under these rules. Platform admin termination does not apply task completion bonuses or incomplete-stage penalties here. When a deadline ends the task **after** it was in progress, incomplete stages may incur penalties; completed stages can still earn per-stage bonuses. During execution, initiators are often blocked from dissolving for the first hours after execution starts. After cooldown, if the initiator dissolves, the initiator is penalized −5; stage leads of completed stages can still earn per-stage bonuses. Future roles (e.g. participants without a stage) may be added separately.
**Beyond this task table:** Reputation can still change from **content moderation**, **successful appeals**, or **admin adjustments**. Those are **not** gated on whether the task ever reached In progress. “No task settlement points if the deadline hits before in progress” refers only to **task completion / dissolve / deadline-stage** rows above (A1–D3 in the design doc), not to account-level penalties or restores.
Score limits
| If your score is… | What happens |
|---|---|
| Below 90 | You cannot apply to join bounty tasks. |
| Below 95 | You cannot create bounty tasks (ordinary tasks may still be available). |
| Below 70 | You cannot join promotional activities marked in the product. Contact support or use appeals if this seems wrong. |
Appeals
For reputation penalties, you can usually submit one appeal per penalty record within two business days after it appears in your history. A human reviewer decides the outcome.
